Faith Mission Church Member Was Korean War Veteran, Burlington Industries Retiree

James Winston Eakin, 90, of Fairfield, Virginia died Friday, May 29, 2020 at The Mayflower.

Born October 29, 1929 in Fairfield, he was a son of the late John Don Eakin and Arta McClung Eakin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Glenn Eakin; sister, Marie Fitzgerald; brothers, Ercil, Thurman, John, Don, Benjamin, Wade and Hamilton; and grandson, Joshua Eakin.

He was a member of the Faith Mission Church and was a veteran of the Korean War.

James retired from Burlington Industries with 43 years of service.

Surviving are his children, David Winston Eakin, Teresa E. Humphries, Vicky E. Sagehorn and Susan E. Rowe; sister, Anne Durr; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A private graveside service will be at Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery with Pastor Terry Phillips officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Faith Missions Church, 11 Mission Lane, Fairfield, VA 24435.
