Joyce Bush Boone, 86, of 913 N. Pocahontas Ave., Covington, Virginia died Sunday, June 21, 2020 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke.

Mrs. Boone was born October 18, 1933 in Covington, a daughter of the late Charles and Alice Potter Bush.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Boone in 2007, and her beloved black lab, Hunter.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling, cooking and baking and her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Surviving are her daughter, Lori Boone and Joe Reid of Covington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Elaine Boone of Roseland, Rob and Anita Boone and Danny and Theresa Boone, all of Covington; one brother, Onzie Bush of Clifton Forge; two sisters; seven grandchildren, Matthew Boone, Chris Boone, Erin Boone and Megan Plott, all of Covington, Israel Boone of Botetourt County, Jason Botkins of Bridgewater and Jeremy Botkins of Denver, CO; four great grandchildren, Reagan Paitsel, Rylee Plott, Chloe Botkins and Granger Boone and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the graveside in Alleghany Memorial Park.
