Laura Betty McCoy, 69, of Athens, WV, formerly of Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the residence of her sister, with whom she has made her home over the past year.

Laura was born March 23, 1951 in Hinton, the daughter of the late William and Jacqueline Fisher Lindsay.

She was a graduate of Hinton High School, attended Athens Church of God and retired from Greenbrier Valley Medical Center as Unit Secretary following a 43 year career.

Surviving Laura are her husband of 42 years, Thurmond McCoy; sister, Wilma Smith of Athens, WV; Laura's pets, her dog "Baby" and birds, "Petie" and "Pretty Bird"; niece, Shelley Burton and her husband, Brian and their son, Brandon of Raeford, NC; sister-in-law, Ada Meadows and her children, Peggy Cates and Charles Meadows, Jr. of Channelview, TX; special friends, Cheryl McKenzie, Mark Shrewsbury and Michael Pagliaro.

Funeral services for Mrs. McCoy will be on Thursday June 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Stanley Metz and Pastor Randy Gilliham officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ballengee.

The family will receive their family and friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
