Obituary for Karen Sue Goodall Karen Sue Goodall
Ronceverte Resident Longtime Greenbrier East High School Coach

On July 20, 2020 Karen Sue Goodall of Fairlea, West Virginia lost her knock down drag out fight with cancer.

She was born July 7, 1954 in Clifton Forge, VA.

She was a lifelong resident of Fairlea, WV.

She Graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1972. She was a graduate of Glenville State College, where she became the first women to make the Men's Bowling Team. After graduation she returned to Greenbrier East High School and taught health education and driver's education for 36 years. In addition she coached Girls Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Softball and in 1993-94 she was named, Coalfield Conference "Coach of the Year" for AAA Softball. She was also inducted into the Greenbrier East High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Karen enjoyed time with family and friends at their family camp on the Greenbrier River. She was an expert video-gamer.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Ginny Goodall and a brother, Lee Goodall.

She is survived by her father, Kenneth Goodall and step mother, Rachel Femster Goodall; a brother, Rick Goodall and wife, Mona of Fayetteville, WV; a sister-in-law, Paula Goodall of Lewisburg; a niece, Jessica Anderson and husband, Billy of John's Island, SC; a nephew, Bryce Goodall and wife, Missy of Huntersville, NC; and three cousins that were like sisters, Pam Goodall Hamrick, Cindy Goodall Kitchen Tucker and Jane Goodall Hughes.

Her genuine smile and always positive and motivating attitude will be missed but she will never be forgotten and always in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg, with Pastor Dallas Smith officiating.

There will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Payton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901 or your chosen charity that fights cancer.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date, to be announced, at the Goodall Camp on the Greenbrier River.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
