Obituary for Mary Myrtle Alt Neff Mary Myrtle Alt Neff
Hot Springs Resident Was Former Bath County School System Employee

Mary Myrtle Alt Neff, 96, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at The Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs.

She was born April 20, 1924 in Antioch, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles Blane Alt and Etta Florence Shreeve Alt.

Mrs. Neff was an employee of the Bath County School System where she worked in the cafeteria at Valley Elementary School. She was a member of Life Line Ministries, the Red Hats, and the Bath County Senior Citizens, an organization she was very proud to be a part of.

She was married to the late James Franklin Neff, Sr. who preceded her in death on September 13, 1999.

She is survived by four children, Reverend Ronald W. Neff and wife, Janice of Lenoir, North Carolina, Virginia, Reverend James Franklin Neff, Jr. and wife, Beth of Hot Springs, Virginia Robert P. "Bob" Neff and wife, Debbie of White Sulpher Springs, West Virginia, Nancy Neff Zimmerman and husband, Les of Harrisonburg, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Heather DeBoe and husband, James, Phillip Neff and wife, Jessie, Dawn Nickleson and husband, Dave, Michael Neff and wife, Bronté, Jared Zimmerman, Clay Zimmerman and Avery Zimmerman; and eight great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2020 at Life Line Ministries with Pastor Zach Royer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.
