Obituary for Gary Wayne Boerner Gary Wayne Boerner
Alleghany County Native Was U. S. Navy Veteran

Mr. Gary Wayne Boerner, age 68, of Clifton Forge, Virginia died Friday, August 7, 2020 at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem.

Mr. Boerner was born April 19, 1952 in Alleghany County, the son of Ruby Jane Gordon Boerner and the late Ralph Boerner.

He served his country as a seaman with the United States Navy.

Gary enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and picking at his guitar. He loved animals especially his dog, Ring.

Mr. Boerner is survived by a son, David Boerner; a grandson, Alexander Boerner; and an uncle, Richard Ferris.

In addition to his father, Mr. Boerner was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Boerner Byer.

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Matlack officiating.

Pallbearers will Eddie Smith, David Smith, Shane Plott, Lee Kyle, Curt Martin, Gary Morgan, Jessie Brougfman and Ryland Burchett.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Falling Spring Presbyterian Church, 105 Edgehill Road, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
