Obituary for Mary Knick Brogan Mary Knick Brogan
Lexington Resident Was New Monmouth Presbyterian Church Member

Mary Knick Brogan, 97, of Lexington, Virginia died peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020 at The Mayflower.

Born April 19, 1923 in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of Amos Strang Knick and Celia Katherine Chittum Knick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert H. Brogan, Jr.; brother, Dean Knick; her twin brother, Paul Knick; and two sisters, Frances Knick Tolley and Elsie Knick Tolley.

Mrs. Brogan, a homemaker, was a long-time member of New Monmouth Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her children, Judy Sheets (Dale) of Waynesboro, G. Michael Brogan (Carol) of Lynchburg and Jane Smith (Chester) of Lexington; grandchildren, Anita Sheets Elmore (Bernie), Chris Tilley, Cameron Tilley Messin, Katie Smith, and Bryan Smith; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter and numerous close nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Monday, August 17 at 2:00 p.m. by Reverend Rachel Clark. Please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you consider a donation to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450.
