Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Member Worked With Burlington Industries, Rockbridge Farmers Coop

Edward Lacy (Monk) Wines, 83, of Glasgow, Virginia died Monday, August 24, 2020 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born November 6, 1936 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Emmett William Wines and Corrine Ogden Wines.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dick Wines.

He was a member of Falling Spring Presbyterian Church.

Monk was employed with Burlington Industries for 20 years and retired from the Rockbridge Farmers Coop with 28 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Alma Clark Wines; children, Vickie Marsh of Lexington, Alesia Wines of Glasgow, Kathy Smiley (Jeffrey) of Chesapeake, Jeffrey "Tub" Wines of Glasgow, and Jenny Parker of Lexington; sisters, Linda Moore of Lexington and Maxine Sorrells of Buena Vista; brother, Pete Wines of Glasgow; six granddaughters; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and special nephew, Porter Wines and wife, Tina.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 28 at Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery by Dorsey Hostetter.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
