Franklin Delano (Skipper) Camden, 77, of Lexington, Virginia died Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at his home.

Born October 22, 1942 in Lexington, he was a son of the late Harry Graham Camden and Katherine Elizabeth Robinson Camden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Greg Camden; grandson, Bubba Camden; and brother, Pete Camden.

Franklin was a member of Faith Mountain Baptist Church and retired from Washington and Lee University.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Smith Camden; children, DeWayne Camden (Judy), Bindi Tomlin (Phillip), Rhonda Hamilton (Troy), Brandon Camden (Dawna), Chloe Camden (two cats); sisters, Beverly Slagle, Mattie Ruley, Bonnie Rowsey, Shelby Camden, Patricia Fisher; brother, Bo Camden; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and special canine, Abby.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 4 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. William M. Thomas officiating.
