Obituary for Carl Abijha Mann Carl Abijha Mann
Vietnam War Veteran Was Real Estate Agent, Instructor

Carl Abijha Mann, 81, of 9300 Potts Creek Road, Covington, Virginia died Friday, September 4, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Mann was born on August 16, 1939 in Washington, D.C., a son of the late Leroy S. Mann and Clara Mann.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Mann.

Carl retired as a Lt. Colonel with the United States Army after 28 years and he served two tours in Vietnam.

He was a real estate agent and instructor with Long & Foster Real Estate Co. in Roanoke for a number of years.

Mr. Mann was a member of Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as Lay Leader, and he was a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

Surviving is his wife of 51 years, Celinda Dodson Mann of Covington; one daughter, Tamy Mann of Covington; one son, Michael Blackwell of Pearisburg, two granddaughters, Reilly and Abriel Blackwell, both of Pearisburg, Sharon Stacy of Blacksburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated.

A service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contribution in Mr. Mann’'s name may be made to Pinnell Chapel United Methodist Church, 205 Summit Dr., Covington, VA 24426.

Arrangements are being handle by Arritt Funeral Home.
