West Virginia National Guard Veteran Worked With Westvaco In Low Moor

Mr. Bobby Cecil Angell, age 80, of 1420 S. Howard Avenue, Covington, Virginia died Monday, September 14, 2020 at his residence.

He was the husband of Virginia (Richmond) Angell to whom he was married for fifty-nine years.

Mr. Angell was born October 20, 1939 in Hinton, WV, the son of the late Bernard Cecil Angell and Ruby (Phillips) Angell.

He served his country as a member of the West Virginia National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Bobby was a former employee of the Westvaco – Low Moor Converting Plant where he was a team leader. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Most of all, Bobby loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Angell is survived by a son, Brandon Curt Angell of Covington; two daughters, Sherry Cale and husband, Bruce of Clifton Forge and Sarah Leitch and husband, Preston of Covington; three grandsons, Stephen Christopher Cale, Jonathan Brent Cale and his fiancée, Miranda Keyser, all of Covington, and Joshua Hunter Cale of Clifton Forge; two granddaughters, Elaina Grace Leitch of Covington and Emily Payton Cale of Clifton Forge; a great granddaughter, Aria Lynn Cale; a great grandson, Killian Allen Cale; two sisters, Judy Mann of Hinton, WV and Glenna Shull of Alderson, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Angell was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Phillips; sister, Frances Angell; sister and brother-in-law, Violet and Ronald Honaker; brothers-in-law: David Mann and James Shull and his lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Gary Gilpin.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home.
