Goldie Helmintoller Jones, 95, of Covington, Virginia died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her daughters residence.

Mrs. Jones was born March 29, 1925 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Jasper W. Helmintoller and Clara Virginia Wolfe Helmintoller.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Jones, and also by one brother and one sister.

Goldie was a longtime member of the Covington Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Rick Neuhs of Covington; her grandson, Phillip Carpenter of Covington; her granddaughter, Sandra Craft and her husband, Carl of Eagle Rock; two great-grandchildren, Logan Craft and Carol Craft, both of Eagle Rock; her beloved cat, Buddy, and also several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brad Armes officiating.

The interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Monday for one hour before service at Arritt Funeral Home.

The family suggests that donations in Goldie's name be made to the Covington Baptist Church, 280 West Riverside St., Covington, VA 24426 or to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, VA 24426.
