Iron Gate Native Worked With Buckhorn Country Store

Lucy Anna Dudley, 74, of 244 Morris Hollow Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Heritage Hall Health and Rehab in Lexington.

She was born February 26, 1946 in Iron Gate, a daughter of the late Owen Ira and Lelia Hickman Dudley.

Lucy was a maintenance worker at the Buckhorn Country Store who loved to be and work outside.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Deeds and Stella Dudley; four brothers, Ray Dudley, James Dudley, Oler Dudley, and Clarence Dudley.

She is survived by her sister, Esther Clark of Clifton Forge; a brother, Glen Dudley and his wife, Joan of Eagle Rock; and a number of nieces, nephews and special friend, Sue Ann Martin.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Robert McRae officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

There is no formal visitation scheduled, however friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests that memorial tributes may be made in her memory to the Alleghany Humane Society, 9313 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia 24426.
