Obituary for Adam Claybert Nicely Adam Claybert Nicely
Rockbridge Area Farrier Dies At Age 35

Adam Claybert Nicely, age 36, went to heaven on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Mary Margaret Tolley, Albert and Alice Nicely and Allene Owens.

Adam was born on May 6, 1984 in Lexington, Virginia. He grew up in the small community of Bustleburg.

Adam is survived by his beautiful wife, Brooke Kelly Nicely, and their sweet daughter, Riley Madison; his parents, Ben and Mary Helen Nicely; two brothers, Ben and his wife, Suzanne, Jon and his wife, Brenda, and nephews, Austin, Evan and Landon.

In addition, he is survived by his in-laws, Darron and Tammy Potter; brother-in-law, Ogden; sister-in-law, Nicole; nephew, Porter and niece, Adley.

Adam was loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless lifelong friends.

Adam graduated from Rockbridge County High School in 2002. After high school, Adam trained as a professional farrier.

In addition to his farrier and horse training business, he was employed by R&R fencing.

These four H's best exemplify Adam's qualities: Household, Hard work, Horses and Hunting. His love for his household always came first, the order of the other three depended on the season.

A memorial service will be at the family farm (1350 Decatur Road intersection of Decatur and Hyde Road) on Monday, October 12 at 1 p.m.
