Glen Wilton Native Was Vietnam Veteran, Assemblyman For Lear Corp

Elmer Odell McCulley, age 79, of 228 Cotton Road, Craigsville, West Virginia died Monday, October 12, 2020 at Ruby Hospital in Union, West Virginia.

He was born March 3, 1941 in Glen Wilton, Virginia to the late James Edward and Effie O'della Crawford McCulley.

He served in the United States Army for fifteen years, including four tours in the Vietnam War.

Odell was also an assemblyman for Lear Corp in Covington.

He was a member of Summersville Baptist Church, loved collecting coins, and loved to visit with family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Harrison McCulley of Craigsville; step daughter, Carol Taylor of Clifton Forge; two additional step daughters; four step sons; thirteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m/ in Central Advent Christian Cemetery with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating.

The family will visit on Sunday from 1:00 - 1:45 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.
