Obituary for Alice Marie Patterson Alice Marie Patterson
Irish Creek Native Was Longtime McCutchen Presbyterian Church Pianist

Alice Marie Patterson, age 88, left this earth for the arms of her Savior on October 19, 2020 at her home in Abingdon, Md.

Born in Irish Creek (Virginia) to Walter Lee and Beatrice Clark, she later married the late Harry Francis Patterson.

A faithful member of McCutchen Presbyterian Church in Buena Vista, Alice gladly served the church by playing the piano for over 25 years. Alice treasured her family, enjoyed craftwork and crocheting, and loved chickens - real or collectible.

Alice is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Steve Hartland of Abingdon; son, Kennan Patterson of Fairfield; grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah) Hartland, Aaron (Alissa) Hartland, Andrew (Bekah) Hartland, Matthew (Jennifer) Hartland, Albert Simpkins, Frances (Tommy) McArtor, Zachariah McCambridge and Jacob (Stacy) McCambridge; 14 great-grandchildren with one on the way. She also leaves behind Lillian Wade and Lucille Ramsey, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends who will dearly miss her.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her beloved daughter and granddaughter, Pamela McCambridge and Christine Patterson.

A second (family-only) viewing will be held at Harrison Funeral Home on Monday, October 26 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The burial and graveside service held shortly after at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m. will be open to friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
