Verlyn R. Tomlin of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away peacefully Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her home.

She was born in Thomasville, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Redding, two sisters, and four brothers.

Verlyn retired from the U. S. Forest Service after 20 years of dedicated service.

She is survived by and will always be remembered as the devoted wife of 65 years to the love of her life, Leonard G. Tomlin. They met while Leonard was serving in the U. S. Army at Fort Benning, Ga.

She had two sons, Gary L. Tomlin (Sharon), and Glenn Tomlin (Frances); a daughter, Rita Lilly (Glenn); four grandchildren, Brandi Tomlin (Joshua), Joshua Tomlin (Victoria), Morgan Knick, and Ryan Knick (Evelyn); and two great-granddaughters, Emily Moore and Atley Tomlin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Verlyn will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Rockbridge Area Hospice and the Carilion Clinic Home Health Care for their kindness and care shown to Verlyn.
