Obituary for Henry Pasel Smith Henry Pasel Smith
Longtime Area Barber Was World War II Veteran

Mr. Henry Pasel Smith, age 93, of Roanoke, Virginia died Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Salem Health and Rehab, Salem.

He was the husband of the late Lessie Drummond Smith.

Mr. Smith was born October 1, 1927 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Aaron John Smith and Rose Valentine Campbell Smith.

He served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II.

A lifetime resident of this community, Henry was a barber and the owner/operator of Smith Barber Shop for forty-nine years.

A huge chocolate lover, his favorite question was – "What's for dessert?"

Mr. Smith was a member of Moss Run Baptist Church. He was a master gardener and loved to watch sports especially, NASCAR.

Mr. Smith is survived by three sons, Henry Steven Smith, Joey Allen Smith and wife, Donna and Jeffrey Drummond Smith; two daughters, Marla Smith Whiteside and husband, Mike and Karen Smith Villarini; six granddaughters; one grandson; two great granddaughters; two great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and husband, Mr. Smith was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Wanda Carter Smith.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association, Mid-Atlantic Affiliate, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
