Hot Springs Native Was Longtime Homestead Mechanic, Chimney Run Church Of The Brethren Member

John Michael (Mike) Hise, 76, of Warm Springs, Virginia passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at his residence.

He was born December 15, 1943 in Hot Springs, a son of the late Mary Virginia (Robertson) and John Robert Hise.

A member of Chimney Run Church of the Brethren, Mike had been employed for the Homestead as a mechanic for 25 years. Ultimately he retired from Bost Construction Company where he worked as a concrete finisher, traveling up and down the East coast putting foundations in for towers of all kinds.

A mechanic at heart, he enjoyed his retirement working on lawn mowers and vehicles. When not tinkering with mechanics, Mike loved deer hunting, watching old westerns and listening to Hank Williams Sr. Overall, he will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather.

Mike is survived his daughter, Julie Meadows and Wayne Burns of Warm Springs; son, Wesley Hise and wife, Becky of Warm Springs; step-daughter, Candi Lowry of Warm Springs; first wife and mother of his children, Linda Hise of Warm Springs; grandson, Allen Meadows of Hot Springs; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Taylor of Rocky Mount; step-grandchildren, Destynie Lowry, Stephani Lowry, Bobby Joe Dawson III, Kristie Nicole Kimberlin and Charlene Nicole Sass; great-grandchildren, Autumn Rochelle Sass and Logan Scott Kimberlin; sister, Mary Ann Bogan of Warm Springs; number of cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as beloved dog, Christmas.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Ocie Fay Hise; brother, Bobby Jarrell Hise; and brother-in-law, William "Billy" Bogan.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at Robertson Family Cemetery on Chimney Run Road, with pastor Billy Robertson officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Johnny, Christopher, Don and Albert Ailstock, Chucky Kimberlin and Randy Knighton. Friends in attendance will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 12-1:30 p.m., Monday, November 9 at Chimney Run Church of the Brethren.
