Ruth Shafer Eslinger, 90, of Alderson, West Virginia passed away peacefully on November 19, 2020 at Peyton Hospice House.

She was born February 18, 1930 to the late Carlos Kyle and Della Meadows Allem.

Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed bowling, gardening, playing cards and being the life of the party.

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenna Rufus Shafer, her second husband, Albert Eslinger and a son, Steve Michael Shafer.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carolyn Shawver and her husband, Bill, Danny Shafer and his wife, Yvette, Kenna Shafer, Jr., and Scott Shafer and his wife, Tiffany; step daughter, Linda Bennett and her husband, John; seven grandchildren, Cindy Martz, Crystal Kluding and her husband, Andy, Billy Shawver and his wife, Becky, Sonja Shafer, Steven Shafer, Danielle Hawkins and her husband, Sam, and Taylor Shafer; six great grandchildren, McKinley, Chase, Allison, Carter, Chelsea and Eli; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ruth has donated herself to WVSOM Human Gift Registry. The family wishes to thank the staff at Peyton Hospice House for their kindness and care.

A celebration of life for Ruth will be held at a later date.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
