Obituary for Lewis Day (Andy) Anderson Lewis Day (Andy) Anderson
Clifton Forge Native Was Former Military Policeman, Retired Nursing Assistant

Lewis Day (Andy) Anderson, age 88, of 1400 Donovan Street, Selma, Virginia died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.

Andy was born April 2, 1932 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Wiley Johnson Anderson and Seatta Martha Swisher Anderson.

He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan, as a military policeman.

He was a retired nursing assistant who not only delivered excellent care to his patients, but was also a valued coworker at the former Chesapeake and Ohio Hospital and Alleghany Regional Hospital.

He was a supporter of the arts, and loved attending events at The Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge, and enjoyed antiques. Andy inherited the love of African Violets from his mother and cultivated many beautiful species of violets in his home, many of which he enjoyed sharing with friends.

In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Richard, and three brothers, Nate Anderson, Don Anderson and Porter Anderson.

He is survived by a sister, Martha Morgan of California; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his special friends, Lawrence "Chip" Wood of Valley Ridge, Covington, and Walter Paitsel of Selma.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be no services, but Andy will be fondly remembered by family, coworkers and friends.
