Larry Joe Austin, 67, of Lexington, Virginia, died Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his home.

Born September 20, 1953 on South Buffalo, he was a son of the late Joseph Edward Austin and Shirley Ann Higgins Austin.

Larry retired from VDOT where he was a crew leader.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved a hand-raised deer named Buck.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Austin; children, Richard Slough, Lori Austin and Brent Austin; a granddaughter, Justice Martin; and brother, Allen Wayne "Runt" Austin. Also surviving are three nieces, Kaylin Clark, Ashley Clark and Jamie Selleck; a nephew, Brandon Austin; and special grandchildren, Spencer Hickman, Tanner Hickman and Dakota Marie Cronk.

A private memorial service will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Arnolds Valley with the Rev. Terry Bostic officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Effinger Fire Department, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA 24450.
