Obituary for Frank Emmett Easton Jr. Frank Emmett Easton Jr.
Covington Native Was Excellent Athlete, Westvaco Retiree

Frank Emmett Easton Jr. passed away on November 29, 2020 at the age of 85 at the Genesis HealthCare nursing facility in White Sulphur Springs, WV.

Frank died peacefully in his bed after suffering some physical setbacks throughout 2020.

Frank was born on October 27th, 1935 in Covington, Virginia to Frank Emmett Easton Sr. and Pansy May Tittle in Covington, Virginia. Frank grew up in White Sulphur Springs, WV and was a star performer is football, baseball and basketball and graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School. He then attended West Virginia Tech until he decided to enlist in the United States Air Force NSA and served two years as an MP in Tripoli, Libya.

He then returned to Virginia where he was employed and retired from Westvaco with over 40 years of service.

In this time frame he started bowling, golfing and playing fast pitch softball. He was one of the best fast pitch softball pitchers in the WV/VA area, often pitching shutouts in three games in one day. He was a great golfer, typically shooting in the 70's, but bowling may have been his best sport. Frank started many bowling leagues in Lewisburg with friend George Todorovich and routinely averaged over 200 per game. The highlight of his bowling career was rolling a perfect game (300) at the Hoinke Classic in Cincinnati, OH.

Frank picked up many nicknames through the years including Fee, Foxy, Sonny, Sonny Butt, Sonny Buck, but was most proud of being called "Papa Sonny" by his grandchildren.

Papa Sonny enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his grandchildren and spoiled them all he could. He loved being there for the kids to get them off the bus and enjoyed babysitting them up into his 80's. He also enjoyed attending games played by all his grandchildren and especially enjoyed spending Christmas mornings with them.

Preceding Frank in death, besides his parents, is half-brother, John Easton (2006) of Covington, Virginia.

He is survived by his son, Andy Easton (Sarah) of Lewisburg, WV; four grandchildren, Samantha Drew, Daniel Banks, Mia Marie and Parker Christian, all of Lewisburg; half-sister, Pam Sutak (Bill) of Youngstown Ohio and their sons, Billy Sutak and Joshua Sutak; half-brother, John Martinko (Marie) of Nashville TN; half-brother, David Easton of Covington and his two sons, David and Daniel; John Easton's children, Jay (wife, April and sons, Jayson and Corey) and Jenn Nicely (husband, Nathanael and daughter, Madi), all of the Covington, VA area.

He also became close friends this year with his caretaker, Brittany Duncan. She was very special to him and thoroughly enjoyed his time with her and appreciated everything she did for him.

Per his request, there will be no services.
