Obituary for John (Jay) Wiley Brookman John (Jay) Wiley Brookman
Fairlea Resident Was Henning Church Of God Member

John (Jay) Wiley Brookman, 86, of Fairlea, WV passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born November 9, 1934 in Rock Camp, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence B. and Nora Emma Hall Brookman.

Jay attended the Henning Church of God.

He worked for ACME Limestone Company in Fort Spring, WV where he returned to work a couple more times over the years. He also had worked at Morning Side Farm in Ronceverte and Belchers/Hamer Lumber Yard in Ronceverte.

He loved hunting and especially enjoyed traveling to the Smoky Mountains area in Tennessee, but the true joy in his life was spending every day of the past sixty six years with "His Girl", Margaret, whom he lovingly referred to as "Mom".

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Martin C. Brookman; sisters, Evelyn Mae Brookman Bowden and Betty Lou Brookman Collins; grandson, Michael Wayne Brookman and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lynn Loudermilk Brookman.

Including his loving wife, he is survived by sons, Larry Brookman (Sandy) of Wolf Creek, WV, Tim Brookman of Frankford, WV and Tony Brookman (Kim) of Frankford, WV; grandchildren, John Brookman, Timothy "Scooter" Brookman, Lori Brookman Cox, Adam Lester and Edward Brookman; eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV with Pastor Robert Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV. There will be no visitation. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Debra Sams and Dr. Heather Ratliff, their nurses, and staff who have taken such good care of John over the years.

We will be following COVID-19 regulations and request that guests wear a mask and be mindful of social distancing.
