Buena Vista Native Dies In Delaware At Age 82

Robert Ellason Tomlinson, 82, of Lewes, Del., passed away peacefully Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home.

He was born May 29, 1938 in Buena Vista, son of the late Harry S. and Mary (Hall) Tomlinson.

Mr. Tomlinson was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the U.S. Army.

He worked for New Jersey Transit for many dedicated years as a driver for public transportation. Mr. Tomlinson had many interest and hobbies. He enjoyed the outdoors and all it offered, particularly camping. He was an avid traveler and loved visiting new places. Mr. Tomlinson belonged to the Improved Order of Red Men and Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540.

Above all, Mr. Tomlinson cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tomlinson was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Ann Tomlinson; his brother, Irby "Lucky" James Tomlinson; and his sister, Naomi Jean Barnett.

He is survived by his companion, Lynne Brown of Lewes; his children, Robert E. Tomlinson II (Jacalyn) of Millsboro, Deborah Tomlinson of Lanoka Harbor, N.J., Barbara Post (Joseph) of Chalfont, Pa., and Kimberly Tomlinson of Villas, N.J.; his grandchildren, Kristin Brimmer (Kyle) of Georgetown, Ashton Tomlinson of Millsboro, Joseph Post (Kristin) of Warrington, Pa., Megan Castellano (Nick) of Doylestown, Pa., Brian Post (Regina) of Warrington, and Michael Orr of Newtown Square, Pa.; his great-grandchildren, Liam Post, Logan Castellano, and Leila Orr; his brothers, Major Tomlinson of Lexington, Steve Tomlinson of Lexington, and Harry Strickler Jr. of Roanoke; and his sisters, Hope Drain of Barren Springs, Mary Ann Slagle of Naples, Fla., Katherine Taylor of Millington, Tenn., and Thresa Tomlinson-Moore of Lexington.

A memorial service will be held privately. Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
