Former H. O. Canfield Inspector Was Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Covington Member

Rachel Marie Craft Rock, 90, of Roanoke, Virginia passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her daughters residence on Indian Draft Road, Covington, Virginia.

She was born January 23, 1930 in Craig County, Virginia, the daughter of the late William Roscoe Craft and Ethel Mae Kittinger Craft.

She retired from Singer Furniture in Roanoke where she was a quality auditor. Prior to that, she was employed with H. O. Canfield in Iron Gate as an inspector.

Mrs. Rock was a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Covington. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to all.

She was married to the late Benton Junior Rock who preceded her in death on August 24, 2009.

She is survived by her children, Paula Thompson, Martha Douglas and husband, Wayne, all of Covington, Virginia; Patricia "Pat" Rock, Benton Joseph "Joey" Rock and wife, Tammy, all of Salem, Virginia; William Dale Rock and wife, Leisa of Botetourt County, Virginia; grandchildren, Pam Thompson, Trent Douglas and wife, Julie, Jennifer McDaniel and husband, Daniel, Joseph Rock, Marie Rose and husband James, Michael Rock, Isaac Harris; great grandchildren, Anthony Thompson, Kailey Thompson and companion, Chuckie Hall, Kayla Douglas, Austin Douglas, Kaitlin McDaniel, Cody McDaniel, Piper McDaniel, Adrian Rose, Damon Rose, L. J. Rose, Chloe Rose, Artemis Rose; and a great-great grandchild, Myron Scott Hall.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Scott Thompson and Aaron Rock; five brothers, Theodore M. Craft, William R. Craft, Jr., James Richard Craft, Herbert J. Craft, Jerry Wayne Craft; and a son-in-law, Gary Thompson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020 at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Elder Max Southhall officiating. Interment will be in the Thompson Family Cemetery, 9th Hole, Upper Cascade Golf Course.

Pallbearers will be Trent Douglas, Austin Douglas, Michael Rock, James Rose, Isaac Harris, Alan Hogan. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Thompson and Joseph Rock.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
