Obituary for Charles Fredrick (Charlie) Walker Charles Fredrick (Charlie) Walker
Retired MeadWestvaco Training Director Was Former Alleghany High School Principal

Charles Fredrick (Charlie) Walker, age 85, of 107 Ferrol Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Monday, December 28, 2020 at The Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center in Low Moor.

Charlie was born January 31, 1935 in Lillybrook, West Virginia to the late Earl Henry and Mildred Twila Cole Walker.

He served in the United States Air Force.

He retired as training director for Mead-Westvaco of Covington and was also a retired principal for Alleghany High School with 19 years of experience in education.

He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon, and loved bowling and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Carol Wentzel.

He is survived by his wife, Bertie Hale McKinney Walker of Clifton Forge; three daughters, Twila Saupé and husband, Kevin of Boca Raton, FL, Dreama Lynn Walker of Franklin, TN, and Linda Lutz Narcho and husband, Bill of Arlington, TX; three grandchildren, Matthew Saupé, Michael Saupé, and Tristen Lutz; an uncle, Bob Cole of Bensalem, PA; and one niece and two nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor, with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating. Interment will immediate follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call any time on Thursday or Friday during normal business hours at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Temple Baptist Church, 300 Stratton St., Covington, VA 24426, the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 419, Clifton Forge, VA 24422 or to a charity of your choice.
