Mohawk Retiree Was Ebenezer A.R. Presbyterian Church Deacon

Mary Mowbray Clemmer Emore Swink, 94, of Lexington, Virginia died Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Kendal.

Born May 23, 1926 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Emmett Mowbray Clemmer and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Clemmer Tardy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Everett Emore; and two sisters, Helen Clemmer Ruley and Gertrude C. Baber.

Mary was a member of the Ebenezer A.R. Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon of the church and retired from Mohawk Industries with 44 years of service. She also served as historian of the Deacon Family Association for several years.

Surviving are her husband, John Paul Swink of Lexington; daughters, Mary Jane Emore Mutispaugh and Bonnie Emore Tomlinson, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Heather Courtney Ramirez and husband, William Edward Ramirez II of Broadway, Meaghan Marie Mutispaugh and her fiancé, Jason N. Patterson of Staunton, and Lauren Elizabeth Fauber and husband, G. Seth Fauber of Glasgow; great-grandchildren, Alexis Marie Fields, William Russell Ramirez, Cameron Elizabeth Ramirez, Jayceon Nathaniel Patterson and Sadie Kate Fauber. She is also survived by John Stanley Mutispaugh of Buena Vista, who she loved like a son; and three step-great-grandchildren, Alice Marie Fields, Anna Renee Fraley and Zi 'Aire Na'Jean Patterson.

A private graveside service will be held at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sarah L. Hill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer ARP Church, 788 Ebenezer Circle, Lexington, VA 24450.
