Obituary for William Clayton Miller William Clayton Miller
U. S. Navy Veteran Was MeadWestvaco Retiree

William Clayton Miller, 70, of 7951 Mill Branch Road, Covington, Virginia, died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Miller was born March 5, 1950 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Clayton and Margie Plott Miller.

He served in the United States Navy and retired after 30 years as an insulator with MeadWestvaco.

Willie loved to fish, golf, and loved to work out in his garage.

Surviving are his companion of over 30 years, Arletta Griffith; two sons: Bobby Byer and wife, Anita, Jamie Griffith and wife, Stacey, all of Covington; seven grandchildren: Coty Griffith, Tyler Griffith, Robert Cash, Dustin Cash, Darrian Tucker, Priscilla Malone, and Johnny Ward; ten great grandchildren, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Larnerd and Dan and Betty Wolfe and Bobby, all of Covington; two brothers; Glen Miller of Lexington, NC and Larry Miller and wife, Gloria of Yorktown, his beloved pet, Tyke, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday January 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating assisted by the Rev. David Brown.

The interment will follow in Lone Star Cemetery.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
