Obituary for Mildred (Millie) Mosier Parsons Mildred (Millie) Mosier Parsons
Former Natural Bridge Resident Was Longtime Elementary School Educator

Mildred (Millie) Mosier Parsons passed away peacefully on January 2, 2021 at the Borden Center of Kendal at Lexington (Virginia).

She was born and raised in Hancock, Md. She attended Towson State Teachers College where she majored in education and was a tennis star. She taught elementary school in Maryland until she married Pete Parsons and moved to Natural Bridge.

She taught high school physical education and coached basketball and cheerleading. She soon returned to her life's calling of elementary education. She inspired and touched the lives of so many while teaching at Natural Bridge and Glasgow Elementary.

She was active in the Glasgow Garden Club, High Bridge Presbyterian Church and St. John's Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Natural Bridge Fire Department Auxiliary and Lexington Women's Golf Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Parsons, and her sisters, Jean Watson and Virginia Helm.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Parsons of Florida; her grandson, David Caplan (Kate); great-grandchildren Louie and Lena of Chesapeake; her sister, Carol Close of Maryland; and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service was held on Saturday, January 9, at High Bridge Presbyterian Church.

Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
