Jerry Lee Higgins, 72, of Lexington, Virginia, died Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Born December 17, 1948 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late John M. Higgins and Flossie Jones Higgins.

Jerry was a member of the Lexington Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from Washington and Lee with 26 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Helen Bryant Higgins; son, Kenton Higgins (Tonya); daughter, Heather Bowyer; three grandchildren, Katlyn Higgins, Colten Higgins and Brianna Hartless; siblings, Roy Higgins of Mississippi, and Barbara Snodgrass, Nelly Dudley and Buck Higgins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, January 8 at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Pastor George Close.
