Mrs. Patty Ward Lipes, age 70, of Covington, Virginia, died Wednesday, January 20, 2021.

Mrs. Lipes was born May 13, 1950 in Virginia, the daughter of the late James Orvil Ward and Katherine Atkins Ward.

She was a homemaker who loved taking care and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Lipes is survived by two daughters, Michele Angle and husband, Bobby and Kathy Hiner and husband, Shane; six grandchildren, Justin Lipes, Ashley Angle, Brandon Lipes, Kolby Hiner, Shane "Bubba" Hiner, II and Dakota Lipes; three great grandchildren, Noah, Annastaisa and Christopher Jackson; her stepmother, Mildred Ward; her brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Trout and husband, John, Judy Redden and husband, Richie, James Ward, Jr. and wife, Deanna, Dwayne Ward and wife, Crystal, Kathy Zuna and husband, Jamie and Yolanda Ward; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lipes was preceded in death by her son, William "Allen" Lipes, III.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2021 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Hiner officiating.
