Obituary for Thomas (Tommy) Houston Bane Jr. Thomas (Tommy) Houston Bane Jr.
Collierstown Resident Was Covington Native, Air Force Veteran

Thomas (Tommy) Houston Bane Jr., 69, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 21, 2021.

He was born on November 11, 1951 in Covington, but was raised in Collierstown.

He was a son of Thomas H. Bane Sr. and Lorraine Muterspaw Bane.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, C.D. Walker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Patricia Ann Bane; one sister, Sharon Walker; a brother, Robert "Bobby" Bane (Dana); children, Robin Giroir, Roland Grimm (Christi) and Raeann Eley; grandchildren, Matthew Bonderanko (Alana), Rachel Spence (Justin), Aaron Eley, Laura Silver (Mitchell) and Taylor Craddock (Ed); great-grandchildren, Amelia Spence, Jayden and Weston Silver; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Tommy was a staff sergeant for nine years in the U. S. Air Force and worked in the federal government for many years. He was last stationed at Fort Lee.

He and his wife finally achieved their dream and purchased a cabin near his homeplace in Collierstown four years ago. They loved it there and hold the best of memories there. His hobbies were fixing anything mechanical and he loved to build. He was a master at both.

He was an easy going and gentle soul who loved the Lord. He had a great love for his animals and adored his family and extended family. Was kind to everyone and never met a stranger.

He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him for his laid-back style and Christ-like kindness that touched our hearts.
