Bacova Guild Heavy Equipment Operator Dies At Age 63

Larry Wayne Overton, age 63, of 9617 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Monday, February 1, 2021 at his residence.

He was born August 9, 1953 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Odie Lee "Buck" Overton and Peggy Jean Franklin Overton.

He was a heavy machine operator for Bacova Guild and a member of the Church of the Brethren in Selma.

He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a generous man and had a good sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae Simpkins Overton, and two sisters, Linda Miller and Brenda Fridley.

He is survived by his daughters, Kari Orga and husband, Yan Agrest and Sara Nadeau and husband, Daniel, all of South Carolina; a son, James Loughran of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Jiraya Agrest and Aster Agrest; an aunt, Mary Sue Pullin; and a close friend, Ernie Taylor.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
