Phillip Gale Steger Sr. passed away in Blacksburg, Virginia on February 3, 2021.

He was born November 4, 1949 in Rockbridge County.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He loved hunting and fishing.

Phillip was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Anne Byers; and grandparents, William Douglas and Clara Elsie Byers.

He's survived by his daughter, Jean (Noe) Alcantara; sons, Phillip (Allison) Steger Jr., and Brandon (Betsy) Steger; siblings ,Timmy Steger, Cindy Ellis and Sherry Dudley; and grandchildren, Sandra, Christian and Luci Alcantara, and Owen, Kayleigh and Gabriel Steger.

There will be no funeral service. The family will have a memorial at a later date.
