Eldridge (Buck) F. Mays Sr., 84, of Lexington, Virginia, died February 11, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Buck was born October 17, 1936 in Amherst and grew up in Buena Vista.

He was preceded in death by his father, Emory Mays; his mother, Helen Drumheller Rogers; his stepfather, Hiter Rogers; his brother, Everette Mays; and his beloved grand dog, Otis.

Buck was well known for being a loving husband and father. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife, Theresa H. Mays; children, Charlotte M. Mays (fiancé, Howard Link), Eldridge F. Mays Jr., Emory A. Mays (wife, Norma), Cynthia M. Hamilton (husband, James); sister, Linda Wingfield;10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; and his beloved grand dog, Rosie.

The graveside service will be on Wednesday, February 17 at 2 p.m. at Greenhill Cemetery. We do request that you please wear your masks.
