Elva Louise (Walton) Clark, 73, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2021 from her home in Covington, Virginia, in the company of her loving husband, Harold, and sister, Elsie, who both provided great care for her during her last months.

At her request, no services will be held.

Elva was born on September 12, 1947 in Orient Hill, WV, to John Robert Walton and Pearl Mae (Cook) Walton.

She was a 1964 graduate of Crichton High School and was valedictorian of her class.

She married James Harold Clark of Hines, WV in 1973 and worked as a kindergarten teacher until the birth of her son in 1974.

She was a longtime member of Orient Hill Baptist Church.

Elva and Harold settled in Covington, Virginia in 1978.

She is survived by her husband, James Harold Clark of Covington; her son, Paul Edward Clark and wife, Terri of Knoxville, TN; one sister, Elsie Marie (Walton) Caruthers and husband, Leon of Rich Patch, VA; three brothers, Vaden "Mac" Walton of Fredericksburg, VA, Elmer Ray Walton and wife Tammy of Hopewell, VA, and Elden Lee Walton and wife, Jean of Covington; as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Samuel "Jack" Walton; and two sisters, Frances (Walton) Osborne and Ina (Walton) Odell.

Elva was a devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and loved her family and the Lord very much.
