Obituary for Lillie Kimberlin Mays Lillie Kimberlin Mays
Covington Resident Was Retired Mizzy Grinder, First Christian Church Member

Lillie Kimberlin Mays, age 94, of 8306 Rich Patch Road, Covington, Virginia died Friday, February 19, 2021 at her residence.

Lillie was born February 10, 1927 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late James Samuel Kimberlin, Sr. and Hester Ann Persinger Kimberlin.

She was a retired grinder for Mizzy, Inc. of Clifton Forge and a member of First Christian Church of Covington, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher.

She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmet Mays, and her eight sisters and brothers, Leona Lavender, Hattie Bush, Arnold Leroy Kimberlin, William "Jaybird" Kimberlin, James "Nook" Kimberlin, Leonard "Wink" Kimberlin, Roy E. Kimberlin, and George F. "Pete" Kimberlin.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty M. Dudley and husband, John of Rich Patch, Covington; three grandchildren, Denise Dudley, Shelly Mongold, and Duane Dudley and fiancée, Dawn Wilkins; two special grandsons, Cody Wilkins and Allen Markham; three great grandsons, Richie Dudley, Brannon Ayers, and Dalton Ayers; two great great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lucas and Oakleigh Dudley; a number of nieces and nephews; and her church family.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor, with Reverend Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will immediately follow. Friends may call any time at Nicely Funeral Home.

Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is handling arrangements. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Lillie’s memory to the church or charity of your choice.
