Michael Dean Dotson, 68, of Frankford, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Cornerstone Hospital (St. Mary's) in Huntington, WV.

Mike was born May 16, 1952 in Ronceverte, the son of the late Harry L. and Phyllis A. Yates Dotson.

After high school he attended Potomac State College. Mike's journey then carried him to be a cowboy in Nebraska and then becoming a pipefitter and welder.

He was a son, father and grandfather who loved the mountains of West Virginia and the open sky of Nebraska. Mike never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone who needed it.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Stacy.

Survivors include his son, Travis D. Dotson of Frankford; daughter, Ashley Johnson and her husband, Justin of Gilbert, AZ and their children, Hanley and Jaida; stepsons, Kelly (Cyndi) Johnston, Robbie (Holly) Johnston, Eric (Jennifer) Johnston and Andy (Crystal) Johnston; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren and brother-in-law, Tom Stacy

. It was Mike's wishes to be cremated and the family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
