Blue Cross & Blue Shield Systems Programmer Was Lexington Native

John William Lacks Jr., 75, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 while at Golden Living Center in Buena Vista.

John was born in Lexington on July 8, 1945, and resided in the Roanoke Valley most of his life.

John is survived by his sister, Jacque Bruce and her husband, Raymond, both of Lexington; stepbrothers, O.M. McCrowel III and wife, Kelly of Richmond, and Franklin E. McCrowell of Buena Vista.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Wilhelm McCrowell, of Lexington.

John graduated from Lexington High School and served in the United States Air Force in 1964-1968. He worked for many years at Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Roanoke as a systems programmer.

Services will be private at a later date.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
