Alleghany County Native Was Army Veteran, Covington School System Maintenance Supervisor

Norman Earnway Kimberlin, Jr., 74, of 1002 Hattie Street, Covington, Virginia, died Friday, March 5, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Kimberlin was born June 29, 1946 in Alleghany County, a son of the late Norman E. Kimberlin, Sr., and Celia Wolfe Kimberlin Terry.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Kimberlin and Coyd W. Kimberlin, and a daughter-in-law, Lily Lipscomb Kimberlin.

Norman was a veteran of the United States Army, serving the majority of his active duty in Germany.

He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor for the City of Covington School System.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Patricia Sparks Kimberlin of Covington; three sons, Christopher Kimberlin, and his daughters, Kayla and Anna; Jeffery Kimberlin and his wife, Sharon, and their children, Montana, India, Karamello, Dallas and Eric; Norman Kimberlin, and his wife, Leisa, and their children, Nathan, Abigail and Karlie, all of Covington. Also surviving are four brothers, Mike Kimberlin and his wife, Sherry of Covington; Timmy Kimberlin and his wife, Denise of Easton, MD; David Kimberlin and Mark Kimberlin, both of Covington; two sisters, Norma Jean Griffith and her husband, Ernie of Covington, and Lori Kimberlin and her husband, Robbie of Covington; his sister-in-law, Judy Kimberlin of Covington and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with the families wishes, his body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held at later date.
