Former Jane Coby Apparel Seamstress Was Iron Gate Baptist Church Member

Glenna Jewell Bryant Johnson, age 83, of 188 Flat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at LewisGale Hospital – Alleghany in Low Moor.

She was born July 27, 1937 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Daniel and Elsie Minter Bryant.

She was a seamstress for Jane Colby Apparel of Clifton Forge and a member of Iron Gate Baptist Church.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and cooking. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband 65 years, Ray Johnson of Clifton Forge; three sons, Jerry Johnson and wife, Mary of Clifton Forge, Greg Johnson and wife, Kathy of Iron Gate, and Mark Johnson and wife, Patty of Covington; a daughter, Sharon Wells and husband, Harold of Covington; two brothers, Basil Bryant and wife, Frances of White Rock Gap, Covington, and Donnie Bryant of Covington; seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Pastor David Hanks and Pastor Teddy Bias officiating. Interment will follow in Iron Gate Hill Cemetery, Botetourt County.

Pallbearers will be Cory Johnson, Jeremiah Johnson, Joe Coffman, Chad Bryant, Travis Bryant, Austin Southern, E. R. Gilbert, and Logan Bryant. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Iron Gate Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 193, Iron Gate, VA 24448.
