Obituary for R. Blair Edwards Sr. R. Blair Edwards Sr.
U. S. Navy Veteran Was Lifelong Buena Vista Pentecostal Church Member

R. Blair Edwards Sr. of Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, passed away from this life to his eternal home on Friday, March 12, 2021.

Blair was born on December 6, 1942, the oldest son of Roy Edwards and Madeline J. Edwards.

In addition to his parents, Blair was predeceased by his daughter, Sherrie E. Conner; sister, Rebecca Edwards; and brother, Bobby Edwards.

Surviving is the love of his life for 45 years, Shirley Edwards. In addition, surviving are his daughters, Teresa Fainter (Greg) and Tina E. Quesenberry (Randy); and sons, R. Blair Edwards, Jr. (Penny) and Sam Critzer (Jackie). Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Frieda McManamay, and sister-in-law, Phyllis Edwards.

Blair served in the United States Navy from December 1959 until 1965. He worked at Georgia Pacific in Big Island for 40 years.

Aside from his passion for playing tennis, Blair was a life-long member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Buena Vista.

The Edwards family will have a visitation at Buena Vista Pentecostal Church on Monday, March 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 16 at Natural Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Adam Williams and Pastor Devin Quesenberry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the Edwards family requests donations be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
