Obituary for Emmett (Bo) Wayne Montgomery Emmett (Bo) Wayne Montgomery
Buena Vista Resident Was New Life Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy Member

Emmett (Bo) Wayne Montgomery, 57, of Buena Vista, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

He was born October 9, 1963, the youngest son of John Montgomery and Betty Cash Montgomery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Montgomery.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 37 years, Lorrie Montgomery; his son, Eric Montgomery (Hilary Montgomery); daughter, Emily Montgomery (fiancée Alex Dorman); and one very, very special little granddaughter, Quinn Virginia Montgomery.

Also surviving are brothers, Steve Montgomery (Louise), Robert Montgomery (Patricia), and Zac Montgomery (Cassidy); and mother and father-in-law, Donnie and Joyce Arrington.

Bo was a member of the New Life Fellowship Church of God of Prophecy for many years.

He was a proud Parry McCluer Fighting Blue football player, wrestler, and all-around athlete. Bo loved going to bluegrass concerts, Virginia Cavalier sporting events (Wa-Hoo-Wa!), and spending time with family – including many special nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many friends he considered family.

A friend to all, he spent his life helping others as a handyman who could fix anything, and master carpenter. He loved and was loved by many work colleagues over his many years in carpentry and construction, and at Bontex and Modine in Buena Vista.

With a kind heart, he was the most unconditionally loving father and "Paw-Paw."

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 22 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Burton officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, March 21 at New Life Fellowship of God of Prophecy, 2457 Magnolia Ave., Buena Vista.

Masks and social distancing required.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
