Obituary for Judy Whitmore Kitt Judy Whitmore Kitt
Former Homestead Room Attendant Was Covington Resident

Judy Whitmore Kitt, age 72, of 111 W. Riverview Drive, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at her residence.

Judy was born August 27, 1948 in Covington to the late Junior Leroy and Helen Britt Whitmore.

She was a room attendant at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia and a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She loved working in her yard and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Odell Kitt.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle L. Shamblin of Selma; two sisters and brothers, Phyllis Deacon and husband, Larry, Barbara Bazzrea, Kenneth Whitmore and wife, Gwen, and Larry Whitmore, all of Covington; four grandchildren, Chelsie Shamblin, Gage Shamblin, Olivia Scott and husband, Dustin, and Khloe Shamblin; five great grandchildren, Kylah Scott, Milo Roldan, Kohen Scott, Mavi Roldan, and Oliver Harmon; a number of nieces and nephews; and longtime family friends, Beryl Little and Betty King.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Temple Baptist Church, Covington, with Reverend Bill Hartsfield officiating. Following the service, her body will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
