Obituary for Debbie S. Humphries Debbie S. Humphries
Former Covington National, First Virginia Bank Clerk Dies At Age 69

Debbie S. Humphries, 69, of 2406 Dressler Drive, Covington, Virginia, passed away from a long battle with dementia on March 26, 2021 at the Brian Center in Low Moor.

Mrs. Humphries was born April 16, 1951 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late John and Mary Williams Seldomridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Roscoe E. Humphries and Mickey S. Humphries.

Debbie was retired as a bank teller in 2007 after 37 years having worked for the former Covington National Bank then First Virginia Bank in Covington.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She loved traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with her beloved dog, Snickers.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Roscoe R. Humphries, of Covington; three brothers, Rickey Seldomridge and wife, Janet, Tony Seldomridge and Danny Seldomridge.

Special thanks to nurses Regina and Lorie of Heartland Hospice of Roanoke and her caregivers, Debbie Persinger and Sue Kirk.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Bowser. Friends may gather at Arritt Funeral Home Monday up until 1:45 p.m. before we precede to Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

The interment will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Randy Canterbury, Ricky Dressler, Gary Gumm, Joe Keyes, Danny Milton, Dayton Stone, Dennis Trainer, and Mike Young. Alternates will be Jeff Horn, Buddy Young, and Larry Snead.

The family asks that memorial contributions in Mrs. Humphries name be made to Calvary Baptist Church at 113 N. Wills Ave., Covington, VA 24426.

The funeral arrangements are being held by Arritt Funeral Home.
