Clifton Forge Native Was Food Pantry Volunteer, Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary Member

Sandra Marie Hall Porter, age 83, of 1320 Forester Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her residence.

Sandra was born March 17, 1938 in Clifton Forge to the late Granville C. Hall, Sr. and Hattie Mae Welch Hall.

She was a homemaker and a member of Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and attended Windy Cove Presbyterian Church prior to 2011, where she worked in the Food Pantry and as a member of the Women of the Church. She assisted with the Meals on Wheels program in Clifton Forge, and was a life member of the Clifton Forge Volunteer Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald Simmons Porter, Sr.; a brother, Granville C. Hall, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Burleson.

She is survived by four daughters, Deborah Darcus of Clifton Forge, Donna Lee and husband, Jathen of Monroe, NC, Deanne Jones and husband, Gerald of Clifton Forge, and Denise Purvis and husband, Glenn of Midlothian; a son, Donald S. Porter, Jr. and wife, Carla of Camden, NC; a brother, Robert C. "R.C." Hall and wife, Elnora of Clifton Forge; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Mrs. Porter's grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday morning at the church, one hour prior to the time of service.
