Former Alleghany Regional Hospital Lab Technician Was Glen Wilton Presbyterian Church Member

Cathryn Ann Hayslett Dunbar, age 77, of 509 Verge Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at her residence.

Cathryn was born August 22, 1943 in Botetourt County, Virginia to the late Ralph Lewis Hayslett, Sr. and Vera Hodges Hayslett (Boyd).

She was a lab technician for Alleghany Regional Hospital, and a member of Glen Wilton Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed cooking, puzzle books, reading, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Cesslar Dunbar, Jr.; a son, Kenneth Wayne Dunbar; three brothers, Lewis Hayslett, Steven Boyd, and Walter Boyd; two sisters, Susan Kauffman and Norma Van Aspern; and her stepfather, John Samuel Boyd, Sr.

She is survived by five daughters, Brenda Dunbar, Kathy Dunbar, and Tina Dunbar, all of Clifton Forge, and Treva Morris and husband, Doug of Selma, and Sally Broughman and husband, Raymond of Low Moor; six sisters, Jenny Harlow of Clifton Forge, Denise Linkenhoker of Troutville, Linda Gale McGraw of Roanoke, Patricia Brogan and husband, Norman of Fincastle, Joyce Wilson and husband, Donnie of Goodview, and Doris Myers of Bedford; five brothers, Johnny Boyd of Roanoke, Gilbert Boyd and wife, Madonna of Roanoke, Elwood Knick and wife, Jean of Clifton Forge, and Freddie Hipes of Greenville, and Elvin Nicely and wife, Tamara of Richmond; eight grandchildren, Justin Dunbar and wife, Susan, Jessie Morris and wife, Jennifer, Kristal Dunbar and husband, Steve, Kimberly Dunbar, Brittany Dunbar, Katie Dunbar, Jared Caldwell and girlfriend, Lelah, and Camryn Nicely and boyfriend, Jordan; a step grandson, Phillip; ten great grandchildren, Damien, Daxton, Carli, Ali, Whitney, Adam, Steve, Jennifer, James, and Tesla; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friend Jane Lyle.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Robert McRae officiating. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may visit any time at the residence, 509 Verge Street, Clifton Forge.
