Obituary for Caroline Deeds Wilson Caroline Deeds Wilson
Former YMCA Bookkeeper Was Walton Memorial United Methodist Church Member

Caroline Deeds Wilson, age 86, of 3318 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia, died Thursday, April 29, 2021 at The Woodlands Health and Rehabilitation Center in Clifton Forge.

Caroline was born January 28, 1935 in Bath County, Virginia to the late Robert Livingston and Virginia Schmader Deeds.

She was a retired bookkeeper for the YMCA and a member of Walton Memorial United Methodist Church.

In her later years, she also attended Sharon Baptist Church.

She was a past member of the Sharon Ruritan Club, past board member of the Weekday Religious Education Program, and a member of the N.A.R.V.R.E. Retired Railroad Employees. She also helped serve with the Red Cross Blood Mobile and offered her volunteer efforts to many other civic groups in the Alleghany Highlands.

In addition to her parents, Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Alvin Wilson, Sr.; a son, Silas Alvin Wilson, Jr., who died on April 15, 2021; a sister, Jane Deeds Hade; and two brothers, Robert Livingston Deeds, Jr. and William Payne "Bill" Deeds.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Herbert Wilson and wife, Dawn Walton Wilson of Covington and Keith Alan Wilson and wife, Susan Phelps Wilson of Lynchburg; a beloved sister-in-law, Mildred Wilson and family, Roger, David, and Jennifer; eight grandchildren, Aaron Wilson and wife, Poornina of San Jose, CA, Sarah Allyn Wilson of Richmond, Anna Elizabeth Wilson and fiancé, Christian Riech of Denver, Betsy Wilson and Benjamin Davis Wilson, both of Northern Virginia, and Angela Wilson, Kimberly Wilson, and Sherry Lynn Shuford, all of Lynchburg; twelve great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A combined funeral service for Caroline and memorial service for her son, Silas "Alvin", Jr., will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, with Reverend Virgil Woodie officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to your local Red Cross Chapter or the local Cancer Society.
