Gilbert Franklin (Pat) Malone, 74, of Covington, Virginia, died April 22, 2021.

Mr. Malone was born March 22, 1947 in Waynesboro, a son of the late William Robert and Pearl Hite Malone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Arden (Nikki) Malone and daughter, Emilee Arden Malone.

He worked for Shoney's for 25 years and retired as an Assistant Director of Loss Prevention.

Surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Christine Malone of Mars Hill, NC, John and Priscilla Malone of Spruce Pine, NC, Randy and Megan Malone of Suffolk; 10 grandchildren: Savannah Malone and Summer Sipen both of Asheville, NC, Codie Sipe of Stuarts Draft, Colton Malone, Kaylee Malone, Chase Williams, and Cameron Williams of Spruce Pine, NC, and Kainoa and Amelia Malone of Suffolk, Kristy Taliaferro of Standardsville, and three great grandchildren.

In keeping with Mr. Malone's wishes his body has been cremated.

The family will have a gathering at Arritt Funeral Home Saturday May 8, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

In keeping with the current Covid-19 pandemic guidelines, you are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while attending the service.
